I'm toying with the idea of offering my "el cheapo" sound card shutter testers for trade-ins :)
I've already made two - one for myself, and one for a friend. I already have the components for a couple of more, and Gordon Coale asked if he could have one.

This made me think - since we all fool around with varous old cameras, a shutter tester is a useful thing to have - particularly if it comes cheap ;)

BTW, you can check out the design and specs on my web page: www.hrtranslations.com/photo/Shutter.html.

You need a computer with a sound card and sound editing software (shareware "CoolEdit" is OK, and also freeware "Audacity"...).

You also need a light source (table lamp, etc.), and that's all...

The whole stuff is relatively cheap to build - only problem is postage - from Croatia to USA, I think it would be something like $10-$15 :(

Anyway, since I'm not interested in getting any money for this, I thought about trade-ins. Like, instead of payment, I'll accept the stuff I'm interested in - filters, lens shades, viewfinders, etc...

Sounds interesting?

Just toying with the idea, don't get me wrong... I'm not trying to get rich here... :D

denis,

take a look at the 'trading post' and see if there are any filters (of mine) that you could use.
i don't really need the tester though, i'm not tech minded very much.

Joe, I saw only 43mm filters... Anything else?

Peter, if you don't have anything to trade, we'll think of something...

Anyone interested e-mail me at:

Joe, I haven't seen anything that I need.
But, you said you don't really need the tester...
So, I'll first deal with those who really want one. :)
