Interesting report: "The Darkroom Tour"

I think it shows a recent (aug. 2018) look into film resurgence.

Exactly.
And here is another recent report about a film revival in Sydney from the "Rewind Photo Lab". Quote:
"The film resurgence is huge" at their new lab in Sydney. Look at min. 16:00 in this video:

By the way, they also offer film, darkroom stuff and E6 processing at very low prices.

Thanks for posting this Helen, good to get an inside tour. Very consistent results and service from the darkroom. One thing I notice (just empirical observation, no proper statistical analysis), their turnaround time is slightly slower over the past year. I am presuming they are getting more and more film development their way. If so, that's good for the future of film.

You're welcome.
But I am Jan, not Helen.
Concerning demand for film processing: In this video the owner of the 'The Darkroom' explicitly says that they see increasing demand. And that they are getting increasing business from younger film photographers and beginners.

And that they are processing several thousands rolls a day (!) on high frequent days like Mondays in the summer. So they are processing hundreds of thousands rolls p.a.

Cheers, Jan

Apologize for the mix-up Jan, quite different a name from Helen! They clearly have a well running process. Let's hope the demand for processing keeps growing.

One thing I am curious about is if anyone has experience with getting Super-8 film developed at a lab.

No problem.

+1.

In the US you can get it here:

I had good experiences with a German lab (Andec).

Cheers, Jan

Jan, you should mention MeinFilmLab. The lab develop thousands of films a month, and the demand is rising sharply. Film is alive!

I will post the movie with a REAL Darkroom and the new Hostert machine very soon!
