Our universe was built from the seeds born from tremendous violence. That's how the elements in the periodic table came to be. Supernovas, black holes, nuclear fusion, gravity, heat and pressure to name a few of the ingredients that make elements that produce planets like our earth, our warm and mostly friendly sun, and a bonehead like me.

We're built from these actions. The first thing for us as humans is to admit it and try to construct institutions that recognize our imperfections, that can provide a channel for our energy that will lead to positive results. The best so far at doing this is the United States Constitution. It isn't perfect. These checks and balances include the control of our ability to embrace and use violence with our activities. Not everyone subscribes to these institutions, what they stand for.
But I do hope for peace and try to be a part of the process and solution.
