Interview with Eggleston by Drew Barrymore.

Thanks for that. I had no idea Drew Barrymore was a serious photographer. Must investigate further. 🙂

Yup, I read somewhere she's built her own darkroom too. I'm going to marry this woman one day. That is if Tom Green hasn't soured her feelings towards Canadians.

Very hard to find her photos as the logical Google search just turns up endless pictures of her. Already we have a bit of a fan base developing here, not counting me as I was already a fan.

The Wedding Singer?

Actually that is the only Adam Sandler Movie I've ever seen that didn't make me grind my teeth ... it was quite good and as you say Drew is indeed wonderful and not your atypical Hollywood starlet. 🙂
Yes, I think so Keith, I don't go out of my way to watch Sandler movies (to be honest I go out of my way not to see them if I possibly can). Grinding teeth sums them up perfectly for me too although the delightful Ms Barrymore is always a joy to watch and listen to. When I read she likes to photograph with film I fell in love with her all over again.

Maybe you should re-name this thread the "Drew Barrymore Appreciation Thread"? 😉
Cheers
Brett

I love Adam Sandler movies. I've watched a few of them with my kids. In Billy Madison he rings up his old pals and apologizes for slights and insults of long ago. Steve Buscemi plays the scary recipient of one of these calls. Its a brief and very cordial conversation, with what appears to be a mature former classmate who has forgiveness within him. Buscemi hangs up the phone and turns to his list, stuck to the wall beside his bed, 'People to kill before I'm 40' and he carefully crosses off Billy Madison's name.

The very different 'Punch Drunk Love' was a good film.

Others have tried to make him talk and all they got were grunts and mumblings. Eggleston is a good raconteur when he's with company he likes. And he liked that company, that much is clear.

HCB's photos are great, but I've never liked the preachy attitude regarding what photography is supposed to be.

Same here. Conviction about aesthetic choices is one thing, carrying that conviction with moral certainty to militate against others quite another. Kindergarten stuff, futile too.

Thanks for the link, Keith. It's always nice to have more reasons to be a fan of Drew Barrymore... and Eggleston's not bad either 😉
