And you recoup some of the additional cost when you sell/trade the phone. Even if you keep it for a long time, iOS and Apps just take up more and more space as time goes on.

Either way the $$$ for storage is well spent.

I keep all my images and video in the iCloud, which costs me 99 cents a month from Apple. Because all I have are little thumbnails on my phone and iPad, I easily get by with 16GB. 128 would just encourage me to be careless with my file management.

I do protect my phone, as best I can, but I do not really want data on a portable device. I push everything onto the cloud. Only Kindle books are on my device, and even that is limited to the couple I am reading, I archive the rest in my Kindle library.

I've upgraded my iDevices to iOS 10. Both iPhone 6 and iPad Pros are more responsive as a result. I'm seeing a bunch of new details surfacing, most of them useful so far.

When it comes to storage, I usually buy the max or one step down from max. It increases the versatility and usefulness of my iPhone or iPad, and means more money back when I sell them. It means I can load both JPEG and raw images and have plenty of space to manipulate them and put them to use. It means that I can carry a few more books, movies, and audio material when I travel. The usual $100 tax to get 128G vs 32G is well worth it.

I guess I should have pointed out that I of course cannot use my phone to manipulate images much past the iPhoto app. And I cannot carry movies at all if I am out of the country.

I do watch Amazon Video on my phone, but only through Apple TV. But you are certainly right -- the extra $100 is a small price to pay.

Still a happy 6 plus user... and very happy that for once, after 2 years, my phone still works great.

Ok, ok... a week later I have ordered the iPhone 7 Plus w/ 128gb. 😱 I think the 56mm will be useful to me. This might be the first iPhone that I take seriously for some photography (square only of course).

I ordered a 7 Plus the day they became available. It won't arrive until early-mid October.
I expect it to be a nice camera to always have in my pocket.

I put iOs 10 on my 6+ last night.
Running a bit peppier. Not feeling any new phones for a few more years.
I think the 6+ kind of was a new plateau for the iPhone. It's going to take another one before I "upgrade".
Very interested in how the new RAW capability. Not sure I completely understand how to utilize the full potential yet.... We'll see how that goes. 🙂

A little HU for you all

I Just started getting some instability. Safari closed randomly a couple times and the bookmarks page locking up and touch screen became unresponsive.
I had to force a reset (home button and on off to turn off).
It's working fine for the most part but maybe if you have not updated yet give it a few days and see if there is an updated version.
Mine is version 10.0.1 I have 30+ of 64 gigs available on the device. It's not a short memory issue.

I've now had iOS 10.0.1 running on two iPad Pros and iPhone 6 for almost two days. No hiccups so far.

You might try to close out all apps and then reboot the device. That gives the operating system the best chance to clear out any in-memory cruft. (Remember that storage is not the same as RAM memory.)

I was content with a cheap £60 Nokia with FM , but was driven by family to have an SE .
When my 'phone substitute camera , Fuji XF1 died , the SE was quite OK as a pocket 'camera' , but Fuji fixed the lens for free , so now it's back ...
[The 6 is far too big and wide for handling ]
Do I carry both around ... ?
I-Phone 7 - no way ... my Chinese wife might go for an 8 .... LOL

You are going to love this phone. I have been shooting DNG's via Pro Camera 8 & processing them in ACR and they are damn good. The 56mm 2.8 camera is an awesome addition.

Jpeg, quality set to 100%, no edits other than resizing in LR.

RAW (DNG), developed/adjusted to my liking in LR.
