Is it better to "push" or shoot faster film?

Since you are ot processing yourself, and not a soul form here has offered to help (I woul dif you were in the NC triangel), I think your SAFEST bet would be to shoot Delta 3200, TMZ or Neopan 1600, and send them to be developed

Excuss me ?!!!

(PS: is my English so bad?)

Hi Nick,
Do you have any examples of the 800 speed Fuji or Kodak Color film? I've been curious about those, and would like to see what you're getting. TIA.

🙂

Here are three more. All shot with Fuji 800 press. My Kodak 800 shots are not handy at the moment, but I do like them too.
Shot with 50 'lux, 90 CV, and 50 Elmar respectively. The center shot was made with a flash.

Thanks for asking!

Well, I'll know in about an hour how it went when I pick up the Tri-X from the lab. I pushed it one stop and got decent light readings at about f2.

The main problem was we were seated in the third row so most of my shots were partially blocked by the backs of heads! I'm just hoping that a few decent shots come out of it - it was as much an expeirment etc. as anything else.

BTW, the artist was the classical pianist Andre Watts. For a number of years he has done these recitals for the residents of Camphill Village as a gift. If you checked the website you will see that the residents consist of both adult mentally imparied and those who work with them in a community environment.

Oh, I also took along the D70 with my Nikkor 24-85 zoom. My wife insisted "no flash" during the performance so only took a couple of shots in the recital hall during applause breaks. Same "head block" problem!

Also used it during the reception afterwards. Got pic of my wife (a big fan) with Mr. Watts and others. Then one of the "directors" came up to me and asked if I would share the pics with them. Seems they have no one on staff any longer who is much a photographer. So it winds up that if I'd known, I could have "volunteered" to be the "official photographer" for the event and shot freely from good viewing angles! :bang:

If anything decent comes out - I'll post tonight after I scan the negs. I'll also put up a couple of the digi shots.....

Update:

Well no scan/uploads tonight. The "drop off lab" told me that the "fancy B&W lab" didn't make a delivery today! :bang:

Now will not be able to scan until Thursday because we've got tickets to tomorrow night's game where our "Damn" Yankees are gonna kick some Red Sux butt! 😛

Hope to have the pics on Thursday.

oh boym, you rpefer snoring for 5 hours in baseball games to the excitement of getting your enigma negatives?
😕 😕 😕

Well it was worth the wait since the Yankees won last night against the perfidious Red Sux by a score of 7 to 3!

As to the film query.

I finally got the film back and boy oh boy, I do need to learn how to soup my own! I think they dry these negs by wiping them on the carpet!

Anyway, I shot Tri-x 400 pushed one stop. Used the Bessa R2S with Nikkors - both the 3.5cm/2.5 and 5.0cm/1.4.

Most of the shots were "blocked" by audience in front of me but I do have a three here - although the third one is a PS zoom* in of the second. Wanted to try that because I think that's how I can "save" a couple of other shots.

I must say that I was pleased with contrast etc. - the TTL meter on the Bessa seems darned good to me.

* err...that is if I did this correctly - but my PS class starts in a few weeks and then!
