The power of RFF - all the M3's at Aperture have recently sold -

Still some left at Ffordes though!
Cheers

Possibly just a blip; wait for the new owners to get disenchanted, buy M2s (or whatever) & put their M3s back on the market. And with a total production of >200,000 there should be a couple left, somewhere!

I still have my 50 lux
but am considering trying a 40 for my M3
Either the nokton or the 40 summicron
and pairing it with a FAT 90 tele elmarit ( which I will have in a week)

Oh Hello Raid,
For me everything gets down to Size and Performance ...
Tried a friends 'Fat' for a few shots
and it was Stellar in terms of Size
/ not over the top like the normal elmarits
Lovely rendering in terms of Contrast, Sharpness
a Touch of Flare may happen but for me that ADDS to the Imperfection & Mystique of shooting / the combo of Glass & Film
I ordered a black 1969 'Fat' version
Since I mostly shoot on the Street and do go Close
I prefer the lens to not be so daunting or in your face
when shooting my Subject
I'll post some pixs soooon...am waiting for my M3 to Return
Restoration 35 aka monza aka digitalintrigue is going to make her a Black Beauty w/ her black fittings
so I have my M2 in the meantime...

I have an Elmarit 90/2.8. It is a first version 1958- . It is a very sharp lens.

Let us know how this turns out. I have a stripped M4 sitting here in a box that needs a coat of black paint...

Judging by the price, I would say the M3 is indeed the best.
Not sure if anyone noticed or not, but the m3 price is going up.

Ya know, asking which was the greatest camera is a bit like asking which was the greatest paint brush.
