If it's real hot, Nikon S640 in pants pocket. (It's one of the little compact digitals.)

If it's jacket weather (bigger pockets), Oly XA of some kind or Stylus Epic, usually with Fuji Superia 400 or Tri-X, depending on mood.

For a while there I counted on my phone for the quick grab shots, but I was never happy with the results.

Yesterday I brought a few rolls to the end (using Minolta Vectis 300, ferrania ibis 6/6, Konica Hexar RF). The next days the Ricoh 500GX is up, loaded with Fujicolor 200, because of the nice automn colors.

I oftentimes bring a Nikon FM3a w/a 35mm f/1.4 AI-s lens. Very compact, and I love the soft, almost dreamlike way the 35mm renders the scene wide open - while being almost painfully sharp stopped down to f/4-8 or so.

Every now and then I bring an M4-P w/50mm 'cron instead of the FM3a.

The FM3a preference is mostly because of convenience - the meter in the FM3a is very reliable, and as I've been shooting a lot of slides lately, that's a very useful feature indeed. (While the M4-P is a little more compact than the FM3a on its own, it loses bigtime when I bring a meter, as well. I really ought to get myself a nice MR-4 to check it out...)

Since I've got my Samsung Galaxy S2 phone on me at all times, I feel less need to bring a compact with me. A decent snap is never a problem with today's phones. If I want something better, I bring my X1 or LX5.

I carry either for digital a Ricoh GX100 or an Olympus EP1.
For Film it is either a small fixed lens RF or an Olympus Mju1
But I have now got some medium format folders and they are very carry able given I always have a shoulder bag, so they are a frequent habitant of the bag. Now if I could get a working light meter for my mobile phone I would be sorted, though I have an iPod touch that does the job well (it gets used more as a light meter and a bread timer than anything else). I don't really use phone cameras, just do not like them.

i make it a point to carry at least 1 besides my phone camera.. it used to be my GR1.. or my trusty R2 that i can knock about..
Now because I'm saving some cash.. I'm back to digital and its the GRD 4 always.. and sometimes the x100 just because it needs to get some use!
