Yes this is a story about a cheap leather camera strap.
At the end of it you can let me know if I was being harsh or if you have been in a similar position.
My gas expenditure had gotten a little out of hand recently so I decided to buy a budget leather strap for an Olympus Om2 that I own to match the tan leather half case I have.
Looking on ebay I found a camera strap that claimed to be cow leather. Right OK, It looks like it might be a little scratchy but its the right colour and natural leather tends to wear in and get more comfortable with age so what the hell, $18.50 and free shipping, can't be too bad. Right?.....Wrong..
What turns up is this god-awful pleather (Polyurethane bonded to leather emulsion backing') garbage. I mean the ebay pic wasn’t the best but what I received was pure junk.
Here's what I can't understand, they've sold eighteen of these disastrous things prior to me buying one and there's virtually no negative feedback in their history. In fact it has some ridiculous message about them being a brilliant seller.
I think they are taking advantage of people's gullibility but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

I received this item. it is not as described. This is not cow leather. It is some form of polyurethane leather look-a-like bonded to leather substance backing. If I had known it was a very low quality fake leather substitute I would not have bought it. I want a refund. It is not as described. The quality is extremely poor.

How about You refund the full amount. I will happily throw the strap in the rubbish for you. It is worthless junk. The quality I would expect from a $2 thrift shop. I would never use a strap of such poor quality. I hope you resolve this quickly or I will report to eBay.

Returning strap cost is $9.25AUD. You can check for yourself on Australia post website. Parcel up to 250g for Lowest calculated airmail parcel weight.
I will not incur this cost. That is not reasonable to expect that I pay for return shipping when you clearly are at fault for not checking your stock before you sent it. It is your problem. If you refund immediately I will not raise a dispute or leave negative feedback but if you wish to drag this out i will not hesitate to take the loss and leave you the worst possible feedback rating. Just refund my full cost and I will have no reason to complain except that now I have to buy another strap from a seller who actually checks the quality of the stock that they sell.

Thankyou for the refund. Just one more question. Why are you still selling this item in your store? 19 sold so far, It is obviously the same listing. Nothing has changed in your description. Still says it is made of cow leather. I doubt you have had time to send your stock back to the manufacturer and get it replaced with real leather. You should fix the listing details or remove it until you replace the stock. That is the right thing to do.

I just checked the listing. Their last reply is clearly taking the piss. They changed the listing to now read "Real leather - (note it is not cow leather)"
What the hell does that mean?
I think I might report them. Just sick of that sort of crap.
