Ed,
Thanks for the feedback. I guess the size would make it more noticeable and more difficult to remain anonymous. I do like going out with the CV 35 1.7, as much for size as field of view. I've been here before in another post - indecision - but at least it saves me money. I've basicaly come to the same conclusion as before. I neeeeeeeeeeeeed,
a 25 2.8 ZM
a 35 2.0 Asph 'cron
Anything else is just postponing the inevitable.
Better start saving.
Isn't GAS good fun.

I have most common focal lenght lenses, I buy/bought them thinking I desperatly need them in order to improve this, that or the other ....
Truth is I use my 50mm 99% of the time, this is the 50mm elmar on my M6.
With midformat 6x6 I tend towards the 60mm which I find covers my needs pretty much, but I still use my 80 planar a lot.
I don't know if this is sugestion but I really think the Elmar with the tessar design offers the deepest most characterfull images. I have the 35mm pre.asph. which is nice but somehow unnatural. Not to speak of a 28 or 21.
Sometimes I do shoot a 90 summicron, but only as a portrait lens with which I picture my baby son.
Anyway like I said 50mm is my lens ....

I never liked the 50 fov on my Leica bodies. I used mainly the 21 elamrit ashp, the 35 lux asph and the 75 lux. Now, with the RD-1, I don't like to change lenses because of the dust issue. I am using the 35lux asph along with the 12 vc most of the time. I got used to the 35 on the RD-1 and I use it much in the same way that I used to use 35 lens on the Leicas. Somehow I enjoy the 35 more than the 28 cron asph. I travelled before to Ukraine with the 28 and the 15vc and now I am travelling with the 12vc and the 35 and I find the combination much more to my taste.

I have a summicron 50(F2) and 35(f2) and a just bought a Voigtlander 12(f5.6), because of comments in another thread. It works out to 18mm on the RD-1. I love it. It's the first really wide lens I have owned. I am shooting everything arounfd here; even the dog is becoming annoyed!
When I first started on photograghy, I spent all my money on telephotos and teleconverters (Nikon F stuff) but they just gathered dust. Now the longest lens I have is a 50mm (75mm on the RD-1)
