Old thread, I know, but now dealer prices are down to £1200-1300, I'm planning on selling on my M6 TTL 0.85 and adding the difference for a 0.58 M7, mainly for the Auto, RF flare and use of 25mm
Interesting. They don't seem to be budging here in the US. I'd love to trade up/over to a .58 myself.

A number of dealers here have all 3 VFs for around the same price.

One reason I keep an M7 around is to cope with rapidly changing light. Neither hand-held meters nor ones that are built-in but require manual exposure setting can cope with the sun going in and out, in and out.
And, of course, the accurate electronically controlled shutter speeds are a plus. They're just a plus, not a necessity, because I've never had a problem with shutter speed accuracy in the 50 years since I bought my first M2 (which I still have).
The little red blinking comma in the finder did bother me at first. Then I realized that I have accepted and coped with much greater problems in my 72 years than a little red blinking comma.

I'd totally trade my m6 for an m7.

M7 0.58 for $12-1300 Where? Not in UK for sure unless am looking in wrong place. Been looking for one at a decent price for years to add to my M7 0.72. Gladly trade in my M2 for it and possibly my M6 non TTL too depending on cost/condition.
