Film, the next evolution.
I am slightly confused. A previous thread had a link to another forum mentioning that an M8 update was due beginning of May, yet all I can find elsewhere is that it`s a wind-up.

I think it's more wishful thinking that got out of hand than a hoax.

Yeah, probably right. Shame really as there are a few minor things that would be nice to `iron` out.
I noticed the same site had a Leica rumour that the M9 was going to use a Canon sensor, so not the most reliable source of information then?

Well, it ain't May yet.
That's not saying that I know either way. I don't. But it still ain't May yet.

I've emailed to Leica USA for same thing.
And the official answer is "no plan on updated firmware for M8/M8.2."

We don't call it a "hoax"
We don't call it a "hoax"
I work in the computer world...
We don't call rumors of pending software "hoaxes".
Until pending or rumoured software exists for the first real download by the consumer, we call it "vaporware" or "smokeware".
The photography/camera industry nears the top of the charts for "Smokeware" in firmware and photo editing software, and I've been doing this for 20 plus years, and another 20 years before that in banking industry software.
