Greetings,

I was watching this auction #290202354537 you-know-where. Two hours before the end the top bid was around $900. I thought "well still a OK deal". I just came back to my computer knowing the auction would have ended, and you bet it ended allright : $2425!

Now am I missing something? I though the "normal" price for this lens was around $1100. Is there anything special about this particuliar copy or what? I don't get it...

Cheers.

No, look at the bid history. The price was pushed right up by a couple of newbies having a bidding frenzy. I just wish they would find my auctions!

No it's not a normal price. The price was pushed up by comparative newbies but the ultimate buyer has much more experience and placed the bid a minute before the end of the auction. Although the seller looks legit this doesn't look quite right - it's the outlandish price really.

I think there's a lot of kids out there with newfound money. Their bidding histories show that they don't care how much they pay for something if it means showing who's boss.
