Why do I always have to buy something this complicated? With my chrome IIIc K, it was almost the same story. :-D

Hello Stefan, Leica 364474 was shipped to Berlin on 15.10.40 on Shipment
# 19151. It is listed as Luftwaffe in the delivery ledgers. Presently there is another IIIc at 364420 ( on the Forum) with the same delivery information.
HOWEVER, it no longer has the Luftwaffe markings. This is not unusual as many cameras had their military past removed after the War. I suspect a
new replacement top cover was attached. You appear to have the "real thing" from 67 years ago. Thank you for alerting me to this camera, Jim Lager.

FWIW, during the early 40's IIIc's fell - for want of a better word - into British hands from the Lufwaffe and magazine articles were written about them, calling them (logically) IV's. From memory and I'm fairly certain about this, they were just run of the mill IIIc's without special markings.
