Nor is the Panda.As far as I know, in collectors circles it is not regarded as interesting at all, as it was not an official Leica-issue, just something that happened, so the exact numbers are not recorded. It is too easy to fake. The price premium we see now is caused by speculations it might become collectable one day. My advice would be, buy two M6-ses black and silver, make a Panda and an anti-Panda and sell one for too much 😉

You know, like it's been pointed out, it is completely possible to have customized the camera. It has been done. Perhaps this is why the item wasn't advertised as being a "Panda M6", because that's not what it originally was. That the seller didn't disclose that it has been customized, though, that gives you some pause. This could be because that's how he bought it, and doesn't know much about M6 Pandas in the first place.

That's why asking questions directly to the seller is always encouraged. If major questions like that are off, I just avoid the auction. Sometimes sellers authentically don't know what they're selling.

BTW, I have seen an M3 with the "stamped" frame counter, instead of the engraved one. This means it was repaired in the past; it was authentic, nevertheless.
