Is ZM 2/35 "special"?

I've had one for some time now. It's a great lens and all - very sharp edge to edge, nice bokeh, etc, but it just doesn't seem to give the same snap as some of the others...

well the 35 cron asph comes to mind.
I recently received a 35 uc hex which feels nicer too.
It's really just a rendering thing I guess. The 2/35 Biogon midtones is just a bit too smooth and expanded for my liking these days. However when I bought it that was the look I was after...

This lens is a special lens. I feel happy when I'm using it on my ZI... and the results are really goods! Very special lens... like anothe Zeiss lenses... (50mm sonnar...)
