Thought I was being smart. Found a 33mm to 37mm step up ring on evilbay, so I bought it and a ND filter in 37mm.
Screwing the step up ring on the front of the Iskra I discovered what some of you may already know. With anything wider than a standard filter screwed in, you can't change the aperture.

Anyone got a use for a like new 33mm to 37mm step up ring and an unopened 37mm nd4 filter?

Yes, you really need a (glassless) 33 E filter from B&W to get free from the front of the aperture ring. With that one on (and it can stay on when folded) there's a lot more choice of filters and hoods that can be attached. I think it is wiser to keep the 33 to 37 mm as it will serve as an adapter to 37 mm filters as soon as you can find that one 33 E.

I just use the slip-on filters for my Industar 50 collapsable. I think they are 36 mm and they work just fine on my Iskra.

Cheers

I use Flexaret slip on filters. They fit perfectly on my Iskra and my Moskva 2 and you can close the camera with the filter in place provided that the lens is focused at infinty (fully retracted). I had to bend the tabs out a bit to make the filter stay in place.

Which Flexaret filters did you use - the later ones or earlier ones?

The filters for the earlier Flexarets (II - V) are 30 mm id/ 31.5 od slip on. Later Flexarets VI and VII used a proprietary bayonet mount.
