ok this is a bit of an embarrasing question for me. How do you set the ISO on the Bessa R? I used to know but I forgot when I let my dad try it out when he went to Vietnam. Also if there was a manual (forgot if there even was a manual), I lost it. I cannot seem to find any scans of a manual, or just random information about ISO setting for the Bessa R on the Internet.

There is a ring around the speed dial you lift up and move either way to get the ISO you want. You may have to move the winder out slightly to get both fingers around it 🙂

Bah.. you gotta be quick around here.. But then again, just as I was about to post, someone called me and demanded I pay for a new sexy M6 classic 😉

From the reference to his dad going to Vietnam, I'm thinking he means the original, folding Bessa-R, not the Cosina one we all know and love.

There is the problem of useing a country's name to describe an event. It makes it hard to tell the difference between a tour of duty or a trip.

There was an ISO setting on the original Bessa-R? I didn't think the 6x6 or 6x9 Bessa's even had meters. Were they also called "R's"?
