Ah, so you have no opinion, so why do we hear so much of it?

If you want to remain neutral well that's fine, but some people are concerned about Leica sales and all the dead end cul-de-sacs they are going up. Before long they will have run out of letters in the alphabet to designate failed attempts at gaining even semi-popular cameras within the Leica community let alone wider popular sales. Let's look at the exciting lens roadmap for the T for instance, or was that it? Hardly an encouragement to buy a new Leica 'wonder camera' when the wonder fades within a few weeks or months. But you are above that, so you need not reply, a journalist is devoid of opinion, a photographer simply observes, and all that pretentious bollocks.

I refuse to believe that a prospective buyer, new to Leica, will be held back for one millisecond by the name. The shop will stock (or not, as the case may be) current cameras only anyway.
As for the T, are you suggesting that lagging sales are due to it being named "T"? It is rather due to the market positioning/price point and the weird USP of 45 minutes polishing that sales failed to meet target..

You would extend that to a small company selling a limited range of cameras? Leica, yes that will sell. A letter or number? No.

Customer walks into store: "I would like to buy a real Leica"
Salesperson: "What pricerange were you thinking of, Sir? We have the X, the T, the Q and the M. 3000? Well, let's see, we have the X Vario and the T to check out for you. They are two wholly different cameras, but both Leica quality. Should you want the classic Leica experience I would recommend the M, but that would exceed your budget, however, if you were interested we have a colour and black-and-white version, plus a stripped-down model." Etc. etc....Now what has the type name to do with this?
