I'll have to remember that one. That might make a good quote for a shirt or a hat, or maybe a catchy name for a photography gallery somewhere artistically liberal.
I get strange looks opening the boxes in my car in the parking lot if the post office. Peanuts flying in the air, weird smile on my face, mothers edge their children away from me. Hey, it is a 4 minute drive home, I am not waiting that long to see a new addition to the family.
It is a long path you've engaged in. I have the Summar, Summitar, tabbed (and soon, collapsible) Summicron, and the Summarit. I think I just need an Elmar to have a "basic" 50mm collection. What I would really like? A Summilux. ::drool:: mmmm, Summilux... But I think my financial health comes first!
Phew, I'm not alone, I've had exactly the same experience with my "new" used M2 that arrived this weekend. You know what though, when I sat looking at it I started to think, wow, this thing was born in 1961, what images has it captured and where. My mind went into overdrive. By Dinnertime I'd convinced myself it had been on the streets of New York, Vietnam, Woodstock, and in and out of several Magnum Photographers hands. Do you think a brand new Nikon Whizz Bang would bring the same emotive response !?
I thought it more suited than the 'mask'
That is a mint M3 in my hands (securely held) I might add. I should really buy a beat up good 'user' one, as I have to admit I get nervous when taking this one out the bag..... but then, that is the price of liking nice things, I guess.
