Was planning on ordering some Fuji Pro 400H from Freestyle so i emailed them regarding their stock availability.

The reply from the manager was:

"Fuji has discontinued the 400H. The item is no longer available."

It is a sad day 🙁

I wouldn't worry too much- they will probably replace it with something; I doubt Fuji is going to leave a 400-speed hole in their color negative film line-up.

First there were notice on 800Z though later they revoked it. Truly speaking as long as there's 800Z I wouldn't cry for 400H.

I hope that Fuji will replace 400H with other ISO400 film to cover hole in lineup. Though knowing current demand for color negatives, probably they will offer only Inferia for negative of ISO400.

I called Fuji USA, they said it was not discontinued. These rumors suck, especially since it took me 4 minutes on the phone to find out it was a lie. Check your facts on stuff like this.

It would also be nice if dealers that sold film could get their information correct. B&H is another dealer that constantly declares various films as discontinued when they are not. Sucky software, I guess.

Sheesh, 400H has to be one of their biggest sellers to anyone using negative film for weddings and such. If they ever did drop it, I'd expect either an immediate upgraded replacement, or an announcement that they are going under.

I am sorry if i have caused any inconvenience 🙁

Definitely did not mean to start a rumour thread. Was quite surprised myself to learn that it was discontinued and coming from Freestyle, i just assumed that the information was reliable. My bad.........

Again i apologize.

Like Bob, I have found Fuji Pro Services to be very accessible and 100% reliable as far as availability of film officially imported into the USA. In fact, I have been surprised at some of the information they shared with me.

This is exactly what I did to short-circuit the rumor regarding 800Z on both this site and another (turned out Fuji was dropping 800Z, but only in the UK, though they changed their tune once enough people piped up in response).

In brief: guys, please don't do the echo-chamber thing without doing a little due diligence. Kodak and Fuji (and Ilford) have phone numbers you can call, and they're usually happy to give you the straight skinny on their products. Even faster than the Internets in this regard. 😉
