My daily browsing of Craigslist ads paid off as it does on rare occasions...
Picked up some inexpensive gear today. The main piece in a beautiful OM2 with the Winder 2 motorwinder. Included was a Zuiko 50/1.8 and a Zuiko 28/3.5 -- both flawless. The stuff looks like it's been sitting in statis since the 1970s. 🙂 The shutter is a little sticky (it fires and then it takes a second or two for it to 'release') but I've been working it at each speed and now it only sticks on every 20th or so shot rather than constantly. I figure it'll loosen up if I keep working it; the only speeds that are showing this behaviour now is 1/500 and 1/1000 -- the rest are all working well after some exercise. The motor winder is working perfectly well. I love the grip it provides, and the sound is classic paparazzi. 😀
The rest of the stuff that was included:
Pentax K1000 body in need of fresh leather, mechanically sound and clean
Kalimar M-1 winder for Minolta (no clue why, no Minolta gear was in there)
Kiron 28-85 lens
Kiron 80-200 lens
Auto Sears 135/2.8 lens (who made these?)
SMC 50/2 lens
Couple of flashes, two bags (one quite nice), straps, a friggin' TON of filters and step rings and whatnot.
All for the princely sum of $100. I have no clue why the guy didn't ebay it or something; his ad even included the prices he'd seen everything going for online so he had done his homework. But, he said, he just wanted to get it out of the house and was fine with giving me such a nice deal. I'm not complaining...
Figure I'll hold onto the OM2, winder and Zuikos, and clean the rest up for sale. Might give the K1000 away since there are some people around me that have shown interest in film lately. 🙂
