Glad you're still here Joe. Nothing like heart or other health issues to suddenly put life into perspective and realize where the needs versus wants rank in importance.
Like you, I detest painting. Accomplishing a task like painting is an important mountain to climb, just like your climb back to health. Congratulations on doing both!

It's just 2 weeks today since I had one (2 days after my birthday), and I have bypass surgery to look forward to in a month or so. Your "one year on" post has cheered me up a bit, so thanks for sharing it. Let's hope we can swap stories about my nth and your n+1th anniverary some time, where n is a large number

good luck with the surgery alan.
i have been told that many heart attacks happen around the time of one's b'day. not sure how accurate that is but it seems to fit for us.
