I just had a very brief discussion with a fellow RFF member who works at a photo place here in northern New Jersey and he told me that a customer came into the shop and saw the photo of mine hanging behind the counter which was selected for the Leica Boutique opening:

This customer asked who took the photo and said he knows the Marine featured. He wasn't aware anyone was embedded as a photographer, which they weren't. I was independent duty enlisted Navy with the Seabees of NMCB-4 so I slipped under the radar of a lot of military because I was military and I had that little instruction that gave me shooting carte blanche over the theater, so not many paid attention to me as long as my rifle was at the ready when it was needed.

Now I'm looking forward to meeting this Marine and fellow Fallujah veteran. I don't know many people who were there so it's going to be nice to have this reunion of sorts.

Anyone out there have similar experiences where a photo brought two strangers together from a hemisphere and a decade apart?
