hey joe,
what are the implications of the vertical alignment being slightly off?? if the horizontal is good does the off vertical just present an annoyance or is focus going to be terminally off. my P fell off a low table onto a wood floor and now my verticle is clearly off........................................

thanks,

steven

If vertical is off, you can still focus, especially if there are vertical lines in the scene. Watch out for diagonals, though -- with vertical off, if you line up a diagonal line, you'll be focusing on the wrong point.

Make sure that the horizontal isn't also off, though -- the fall could have altered that, too.

Congratulations Joe! After that mighty daring-do exploit, you should about be up to attempt the loading of a bottom-feed Leica or some such. :D

And without duct tape too. Miracles DO still happen.

steven, it was more an annoyance than anything. it wasn't difficult to adjust.

walker, don't forget i have 2 canon bottom loaders and i'm getting better at loading all the time.

;)joe

2 of them ? Hmmm would'nt you say that makes one of them more of an... encumbrance ?

*Jedi hand wavy thing*

There's a bit too much humor in this thread...

Not to mention all that heavy breathing, shrinkage and other things that cracked me up.

Heck, Joe, congratulations on a very un-bourgeois act, such as fix your own gear! :)

Shrinkage happens only on the dark side... We true Jedi's do not experience this "shrinkage" you speak of. (George is obviously a Sith anyway)

"dark side? no, you are mistaken...these are canons not leicas!!"

It's hard to keep up with the dark side... some say it comes in the form of digital, others of german camera equipment manufacturers. The dark side comes in many disguises, all of wich are very tempting :p
