It's getting mighty crowded in here...

"Concept model..."

Good luck with that. I've got a concept model, too.

Samsung has product out the door and Panasonic and Oly are getting ready to ship their third-generation m4/3 products.

When you see a camera company releasing a rectangular box with a lens on it as a mockup, it means "we don't have a clue what we are going to make, but we are trying to get some publicity."

The title is misleading, Sony Nex is not m4/3 camera but APS-C (like Samsung NX). No direct lens compatibility promised.

Actually, the m4/3 landscape is relatively sparse. You would think a lot more companies would jump on that bandwagon. Hard to judge the actual market, though.

I think it's pretty unhelpful to label this forum "Micro4/3" - especially as new competitors to the format seem to be launching every day. With Samsung and Ricoh now as direct competitors and, it seems, Sony soon to launch, how about re-branding it "big sensor, small body"?

As for me, just as I was about to plonk down money for a GRX, this just makes it even more difficult to choose.

I like the "EVIL" acronym. Actually, best distinguishing features of this new breed are not format size (eg. m43), but rather absence of a mirror and an EVF instead of OVF.

probably worth wait PMA over before plonking any money.

perhaps Sonys camera will be more adapter friendly than what Samsums NX10 supposedly is..

I will say that I'd far rather have a Sony sensor than a Samsung. Sensors are one of the remaining areas where Sony absolutely kicks ass. The marvelous sensor in the Pentax K-x is reportedly a Sony.

i like to call these cameras aps-c compacts. covers all the bases, like whether it has a built-in EVF, an accessory EVF, a fixed lens, interchangeable lenses, or lens units. maybe they will eventually make a full frame compact (i'm leaving rangefinders out), but for now it's aps-c and micro 4/3.
