Obama's trip down under ... why can't he just have a cheap holiday like everyone else? :p LINK
 
He shouldn't even be coming to Australia whilst our dollar is so strong - cancelling this trip could have funded the further bailouts their banks will require when Europe enters its heavy recession ... :)
 
The cost of this trip must be phenominal ... the burden for this sort of thing on the US tax payer is crazy stuff IMO.
 
I work at the back of the airport and have been observing the commotion during the week - including all the USAF flights dropping of his hear (incl two Obamamobiles).

Leaving town for the two days that he is here - the Queen's visit was a PIA, let alone POTUS.

Though I don't see the need for him to take the trip down under, as long as there are people like Cain, Romney, Gingrich, Perry, and all the other crazies trying to take his place, he has my vote..

We had the same reaction here in Norway when US president Obama was here in Norway to 1)receive the Nobel Peace price - and 2)to borrow more money on behalf of the US treasury, from our pension fund. He arrived in Air Force One: Mother of all Business Jets. Pluss a heavy military transport plane for his bullet proof limo & escorts. Besides his entourage of several hundred people.

I also react on Nanzy Pelosi, flashing all that expensive jewelry right in the face of a people in crisis, every time she is on TV. And none of the ties worn by John Boehner costs less than 200 $. He wears a new one every time he is on TV. If the troubled times never reaches Washington, they will only go on and on, won't they?

I don't understand this post. The problems facing the US are 30 or 40 years in the making.

Agree.

Sorry for sounding 'anti American'. That was not the intention. We feel a great deal of sympathy for the ordinary American man and woman over here. Because we face the same problems ourselves.
