Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I've been sick for the last couple weeks with a really bad respiratory infection that won't go away.

I was in the hospital last week and they determined that I do not have the flu or pneumonia, thankfully. I'm still on antibiotics, the third one that's been tried. Hopefully, this one will work.

Chris, this is not good. Keep taking your medications and don't be shy about going back to the hospital. These lung problems can take forever to cure. My wife had an 18 month bout a couple of years ago. I want you to recover as well as she finally did. Best of luck to you.

Take care and get well Chris

Take care and get well Chris

Dear Chris,

The internet can wait for your input. You need to concentrate on getting better and worry about posting later.

Take care,

Sorry to hear this. Take it easy, Chris. Give your body enough time to get well before you push yourself again.

Take care.

Best,

Has there been an analysis of the bug? i.e. is it really a bacterial infection or a virus ... in case of the latter obviously the antibiotics won't work but only kill all the good bacteria in the body and hamper the own defenses🙁.

I had a sinus infection (on and off since X-mas), saw a doc and got antibiotics prescription, asking the doc if this is really needed she printed me an info sheet about sinus infection to take home and instructions to take the antibiotic if things don't get better after 3 days. The very first sentence of the printout started: " Against common belief only 2% of sinus infection are caused by bacteria and antibiotics will not help with viral infections". Maybe it would help if the doc reads the information herself before guessing that I probably are among those 2%🙄.

Drink lots of watery fluids, i.e. tea, mineral water, chicken soup, get some fresh air if possible and try to keep the humidity in the room up. Typically the extremely dry air during the heating period makes the mucus membranes prone to infections.

Get well soon!

Yeah its a bacterial infection. The antibiotics I am on now are finally beginning to work. I am very prone to these infections, and get them at least once a year, but I have never had one so bad before.

Well, good thing it's not that adenovirus that is making the rounds. Rest up, Chris, but keep moving too, you don't want it kicking you while you are down.

Take care.

There's nasty stuff going around that's for sure. Call it what you will. I've been down since right after Christmas with a bacterial infection. The drugs I think were worse than the whatever ( I say Flu because it's all encompassing and only a doctor knows the difference).

When I look at members of my church family that have died over the past year (every year) I think if you make it through Jan and Feb you have a 95% chance of making it to the next New Year.
