I've update my gallery.

B&W and the 15/4.5 seem made for each other. Great photo of the Fringe Club! I've stood at that same light a thousand times looking up at "1913" and never imagined it so beautiful. I've just purchased the R2M and look forward to collecting similar perspectives in Hong Kong and environs. What do you use to scan the photos?

Welcome to the club!
Nice to know there is another Hong Kong user here.
Where did you get your R2 from?
And what lens have you bought or plan to get?

The scanner used was an old Minolta Dimage Dual Scan IV.
A good deal would be the Canon Canoscan 8600F, only HK$1,250-
4800dpi resolution

Oh, btw, I am thinking of getting rid of my 15/4.5
And getting the 13mm instead.

See, that's that ultra-wide addiction problem. You go a little wide, then a little wider, then soon you want the widest. Where will it all end.

I was just thinking that perhaps I needed the 15mm to go with the 21mm I just received. How long with the 15 before I want the 12?

Thanks for the welcome, Manfred. I picked up the 250 Jahre limited edition R2M in black at Kinefoto on Stanley Street. Only have the lens it came with for now: the Heliar 50/2.0, but will definitely go for the 15/4.5 as I prefer the perspective it provides. However, I'm intrigued why you aren't satisfied and want to further expand to the 13mm. Is it as good a lens?

As way of background, I have been a devoted film user for over 30 years, and only reluctantly went digital a couple of years ago with the Lumix DMC-LC1. I surprised myself by quickly growing to appreciate the immediate results of bracketing exposures. using flash fill and slave units and generally experimenting at "no variable cost". However, of late I've missed the surprise of using film and waiting to see the results of my thinking. Funnily enough, I always knew in the old days when I snapped the shot how the photos would turn out. Using digital, I get immediate results, but am often disappointed at how different I thought they should have been. Perhaps I'm just not in tune with the sensor!

In any case, I think I will use the R2M for B&W primarily, and for wide angle, slowly composed shots. Your info on the scanner is helpful though, as I have relatives and friends who want results delivered by email rather than post. Such is the world today.

I'll look for you in the ever changing streets of Hong Kong. And perhaps I can help relieve you of that 15mm!

Ah, nice choice! I know where Kinefoto is! They have lots of goods on display . . . sometimes there are bargains to be had. I always drink herbal tea next door.

Actually I don't know whether the 13mm is good or not. I am really pleased with the 15mm's performance. I too previously used a Contax G2, but never had the chance to try the super wide angle (given the price they were selling HK$10,000 plus), and it was at F8 only. Which was one of the reason why I ditch my whole Contax setup . . .

As way of background, I have been a devoted film user for over 30 years, and only reluctantly went digital a couple of years ago with the Lumix DMC-LC1. You know, a lot of people have returned to film lately? Digital cameras are ever improving . . . I remember paying HK$7,900 for a Nikon 990 (only 3.3 mega pixels). Now, it could be had for peanuts on Ebay. Digital stuff just don't hold their value.

However, of late I've missed the surprise of using film and waiting to see the results of my thinking. Funnily enough, I always knew in the old days when I snapped the shot how the photos would turn out.

And that is one of the reason why I returned to film too! It's more about discipline.
I find myself more focused when using film . . . it cost money ah to develop . . . so you think more. Also film also has a certain color to it, which digital just doesn't have.

I'll look for you in the ever changing streets of Hong Kong. And perhaps I can help relieve you of that 15mm!

Thanks, please PM me with your offer.
