New York January NYC Meet-UP ( possible new uptown location)

I would join on a regular basis, but as I said previously, family responsibilities keep me close to home on weekends. Cal and I had talked once about having a meeting uptown. There are a lot of you I would like to meet face to face. This would give a couple of us the chance. Anyway, whatever the group decides and we could just take it from there....

Keith and everyone,

In the spirit of RFF we are all trying to include as many people as we can. Andre another friend shares the same responsibilities as Keith and seldomly can make a meet-up. If you are unburdened like me what is a little longer subway ride, but a small inconvenience. Meet-Ups really is about sharing anyways.

But I also know other people that live downtown with similar responsibilities that heading uptown would be rather inconvenient to the point that they might not be able to attend. Anyways because this is an open forum I wish and hope that they feel free to express their concerns or wishes. I don't want anyone to feel excluded. Also know is that we could alternate locations to try to be fair and open.

Know that I am so far rather digitally inept, but could someone create a link on this thread to Harlem Public. I found some of the reviews entertaining.

If I may be so forward, can I suggest that we pencil in the date to be either Saturday or Sunday the third weekend of January, meaning either the 19th or 20th.

Pro-Mone first suggested that this weekend might be best for him.

My girlfriend, an academic, can't stand how I butcher the English language. When she corrects me I tell her that as a person of color that it is my right to butcher the language a create new slang. When she corrects me, or tells me that no such word exist, or says your definition of the word is not in the dictionary I tell her that she is oppressing me. LOL.

We once had a recliner that was made by "Lazyboy," but I use to call it the "Lazygirl" which she really hated. My argument was that Lazyboy is a sexist term and that I use the term Lazygirl to gain equal time, then I'd remind her that she's a feminist and should understand.

Ok, well it looks like a few of our NJ friends are ok with Harlem. Let's do it! There won't be a ton of games on TV by that time in January.

dumbo meet is as good, no? view of lower manhattan and billion dollars rehab of the waterfront. harlem is reachable, few more train-hop away.

Let's try Harlem Public as an experiment. Puck Fair is still a great place that remains rather convenient. If everything works out for the good we may try and alternate locations for variety, spice and to be inclusive.

So we narrowed it down to Harlem Public and the third weekend in January. Which day? Saturday or our usual Sunday?

As I have a 45 min car ride from NJ, I really don't care too much where in Madhatten we meet uptown , downtown, dumbo.
Once I'm there, it's just a subway ride away ;).
I'm fine with Harlem on Sunday Jan. 20th.

So Sunday January 20th it is. Let's say 1:00 PM our standard time, but I will likely be there early to secure an optimum location. Perhaps they will have a feature like John's beloved light bulb. LOL.

I've been trying to get to one of these meetups for a while but usually end up working weekends. I would definitely like to join you guys for this one.
Location doesn't matter much to me since I drive in from NJ. If anyone wants a ride in with me, let me know.

Wow, So many from New Jersey. Perhaps we should have a Meet-Up in Newark. LOL.

Lots of great places to eat and drink. Lots of industrial landscapes too...
