Hopefully I'll get the day off and see you guys, I'll bring my Contax RTS that's been
recovered in Prada Leather, and hopefully a few prints from my new Printer the HP
b9180. I bring a camera to work everyday, so I hope I have some good shots, I'm
still waiting for my Fuji it's been sitting in the Post Office since Thursday and I work
tomorrow and I guess I will have to pick it up myself.

Is it that bad? Sensor dust or actual physical damage?

Damaso,
Thanks for starting the legacy.
Originally I kinda resented that you dumped the responsibility onto me. Why did you choose me?
Back then, I was pretty clear that I was and still am a lazy slacker who otherwise would not want to be bothered. LOL.
Cal
I think the reason is clear: you were right there!

I think the reason is clear: you were right there! And I have to say that you kept things rolling while I have been gallivanting across the globe in a way few others would have been able to!
Damaso,
Thanks.
We keep on running into each other again and again. It seems the world is not that big.

All of your LTM gear is what I'm most jealous about at this point. I don;t want to shoot 35mm film, but if I did... the IIIg is a must.
John,
I have too much gear, and I have to do things to justify all my cameras as far as utility.
It seems somehow I accumulated enough single coated glass that has retro styling I was able to assemble a compact three lens kit that is specifically built to support shooting Acros at 100. I'm using that small brown leather Leitz bag that I got for no money to hold my M6 and MP without Rapidwinders and the three lens kit is either 28-35-45 or 28-35-50 using my black 28/3.5 Canon, 35/1.8 Nikkor, 45/2.8 Super Rokkor and version 1 50 Rigid.
I had the 50 Rigid's front element recoated so the lens is kinda fresh. All the lenses have distance scales in feet only. I chose to use all this glass on my M-bodies so I can shoot a metered long-short pair.
The IIIG is another Calzone "Monster Camera" by mounting my new 43/1.9 Pentax-L "Special." This lens is kinda big, especially on a screwmount, but because of the 1.5 magnification of the IIIG along with the 90 degree stop-to-stop quick focus this camera will be a great shooter for street. The Pentax external VF'er is wonderful with a built in diopter.
Somehow I snaggered the rare silver version of this lens. It is a fun camera to shoot, and I can see me blasting away. I think this rig will pair nicely with my MD-2 with 21/3.4 Super Elmar.

Damaso,
Always good to see you. Seems like I always seem to run into you at least once a year, even though you live abroad. Seems twice in a NYC bus going crosstown, and than once in my own neighborhood.

My GF lives on the UWS so I guess we have more of a chance to bumping into each other. I hope to make it to the meetup in March when I'm back!

PHOTO ALERT: Yesterday I got an invoice from Digital Silver Imaging, and I found out that my proofs for the 20x30's I ordered will be 16x20's. Kinda cool that I get two rather large prints, and the 16x20's proofs came as a surprise. Of course all the prints are fiber.
The next surprise is that I learned that when I specified a 40 inch print for the reference for an 8x10 zoomed in crop to take advantage of the free 8x10 I was offered at the PhotoPlusExpo, 40 inch "Tall" was DSI's interpetation when I meant 40 inch "Wide." Oh-well. Now by accident I'm encroaching into Salgado territory by going super-duper-size. I haven't commited to the final enlargement size yet.
Last night I took out the tape measure and measured the wall space behind our couch. A framed 40x60 with a moderate border could be as long as our couch. "Maggie" was sitting on the couch while I took all these measurements, she did not ask any questions because I guess she is use to me doing odd things, and so far I don't think she knows what is going on. Anyways a gigantic print in our one bedroom apartment is kinda monsterous for sure. Not too keen that "woman factor" might limit my ambitions, and I might have to use my get out of jail card again.
Anyways I think it will be a stunning image, although Maggie might not like seeing such a mural sized photo in our small humble apartment.
The image I took is with my Monochrome and 28 Cron stopped down likely to F5.6 and shot with a high shutter speed hand held. I was on one of the upper balconeys of the AOL Time Warner skyscrapper when I took some shots of Columbus Circle from an altitude of perhaps 65-70 feet leaning as far as I could over the railing. What is so cool about what otherwise might be just another "tourist" shot is that I encorporated this wall of windows that ran perpendicular to to windows with the outside view. The effect was a mirror image of Columbus Circle where vehicular traffic appears to be running into a head on collision with itself due to the huge scale of the mirror image.
I tried at other times to recreate this shot, but I figure that on that first day somehow I must of had perfectly polorized light that somehow enabled me to capture a great shot that kinda is iconic.
Anyways I should have the proofs by the holidays. I'm not so keen on storing a 40x60 print rolled up in a tube, but then again I know framing will be costly.
Anyways another Calzone disaster. My ace in the hole is that we are locked into our new 2 year lease at a good rate. I have two years to be able to upgrade into a loft so my shot does not look so oversized. LOL.

It is the holidays, and I don't know how many more bumps I can give this thread since I'll be away from work for the most part till January 12th. Over the next two weeks perhaps I'll be at work only for only four days.
Hope to see everyone at the Meet-Up. I think my friend Brian who is the new owner of my M3-DS will attend, and he will be inviting some friends.
Monday I'll be helping "Maggie" who will be modeling for a photo shoot for another photographer and also the same day an editor of some high end fashion magizine (printed in Italy bi-monthly) will be styling "Maggie" for some editorial. Somehow these events happened seperately and somehow merged. After a little more than three months Maggie's blog seems to heading into a vertical rise and she is getting enveloped by a huge ground swell. I say next year we will likely get inside the tent during fashion week. Many more opportunities go unmentioned.
With my own work I just placed a rather huge order for paper and ink to begin printing out some of my work shot with the Monochrom. Some of my best images that hold up to massive enlargement are currently being printed 20x30 on fiber. I expect that at the January Meet-Up that I will have 9 16x20 inch proofs of this work and also the free 8x10 zoomed in crop of a 40 inch tall enlargement that is for evaluation if I can do a Salgado sized print from my Monochrom. I deem it not likely that my finished 20x30's will be done by the January Meet-Up, but 16x20 inch proofs capture the IQ and the main idea.
Perhaps I'll have some digital prints that I will have made using Piezography inks. I decided on doing a custom split-tone inkset with warm neutral shadows and selenium highlights. I'll be blending inks for the split for the shadows or for the midrange. I expect I'll be printing mostly 13x19 with the ocassional 17x22, all glossy, and for the exceptional files that can be printed bigger I will just rely on Digital Silver Imaging for fiber wet prints made from my files.
I know that Jean-Marc just went on safari in Africa. Perhaps he has work to show? My short break from the New York Meet-Ups has proven to be very productive.

joined your cool meet-up in March 2011, but living wrong side of globe to come again since.
is there plans to continue tradition somewhere else?
