JFI Color Labs ??

Now that I have C1 installed I thought I'd give the JFI Color Labs a go for B&W conversion. They have two products for sale the tool kit and the film profiles. Anyone have experience with these, do I need both or is one more useful then the other?

I have both. They are rather cheap in cost and do a VERY nice job of conversion without having to go through all the various hoops in Photoshop.

The first ones are basically very similiar to FP4 and then give you the options of if you had varios filters in use such as yellow 0,1,2 or green, or orange, etc...

The second group gives conversions that simulate the look of various other B&W films.

Do you notice a difference in Tri-X, HP5, Pan-F, FP4, Acros 100, TMax, etc... ?

If you do, then the answer is yes.

They have really done a nice job of simulating many films' contrast curves and profiles.

Not familiar with that program but before you push the buy button...

try .. The Image Factory's B&W converter. It works great and even has an analog feel to it. Many shooters over at Martin's B&W site use it and it really is a great program....don
