I am actually happy to see that for Macs, the LS-8000/9000 version allows you to fine-tune 120 filmstrip framing in the overview (thumbnail) mode.
The difficulty I am running into is with 6x4.5 - the overview shows the four frames with a lot of margins. It's not easy to visually center these in such a way that you don't have to re-crop later. Silverfast 6.6 had a narrower 6x4.5 overview opening that (at least with the Windows version) actually managed to find the frames automatically.
All of this would suggest the Job Manager for batch scans - since you can adjust the framing on each prescan before doing the whole batch. Has anyone actually managed to build a list of frames to scan in version 8? The instructions make no sense, and the button to add frames from the overview seems to have disappeared from 6.6. Basically, every time you change prescans, the Job Manager just erases the frame that was previously on the list - meaning that it won't batch more than one negative.
Ideas?
Thanks
Dante
And please - don't mention Vuescan - I've scanned thousands of frames with it, but it doesn't work as well (at least for me) as Silverfast does.
