What "kafwuffle?"

Two banned contributors keep creating new accounts and making a mess in those forums. From the perspective of those that run photo.net it would be a lot of work to clean up. It wouldn't surprise me that they might do something drastic to reduce the workload.

"One final point--I have to confess to a hopeless love for ugly bokeh; don't know why, but I like all the little ellipses and squiggles. Maybe I'm a closet impressionist.

I appreciate the timing of this thread, and my thanks to all who contributed".

I wish you a speedy recovery and many more happy posts on RFF.

I too have to confess to a love of gnarly bokeh.

Best wishes.

are you talking about ed mo & grant?

Ya, if we take it at face value that that is who they are (seems reasonable to me).
If it is them then I don't quite understand what 'mature adults' might be getting out of doing that. Doesn't seem to be particularly closely related to their purported hobby. But then we may not want to talk about that here (my fault - sorry!).

Thanks. I don't really know what's going on yet. I'm still suffering from shell shock and recuperating from watching the Harry Potter this evening. (Don't waste your money.) The wife and I only watched it because it was playing in the same mall as Zellers. 🙄 For Club Z points (Oakridge). I only took 1 pick today with my most fabulous non-black but professional Olympus 35RC. (1/30 shutter - Delta 400 film.) 🙁

The wife didn't want any more pics taken; and being with the wife, taking pics of cheeks or phuket was verbotten. (Don't think I spelled that correctly.)

Hello Frank and thanks for the thread and the advice.
You're a gentleman and a scholar--and you don't even have to pick one!
This is a very friendly thread--thanks to all.

FrankS--I see you ride a Beemer. I ride ummm ahhh welll ahem--- a Harley.
Even have a black leather jacket! 🙂 🙂
Wonder who else is afflicted with motorsickle/RFFmania?
Thanks again!

I'm not that new any more, but it's wrong to think that people will have to think of ua s a new comer and try not to ignore any of ur posts so u wouldn't feel bad, or comment on ur photos in the gallery...

Months ago when i joined, no one commented on any of the photos i posted in the gallery, mainly i didn't have many scanne photos nor a scanner(summer period) so i admit not all these photos were intersting and even if they were sometime su just can't find a suitable comment, and then i also didn't have enough time to share my thoughts or comment on others work too...

The thing is i knew that once i start interacting with other forummers things will be different..How ever there was always someone to answer my questions, and the feeling that people will love to help u didn't make me feel bad at all about my gallery issue 😀

And then when i started commenting on other people work, when i started to have more posts, more activity on the site, people began to give alot more attention, i still know that i'm not contributing alot to this site, but it's gettin better month by month, and i no longer feel a stranger...

Away from this forum(which i've found to be the greatest, friendly people who want to help, not brag on u) it's always like this everyhwere, u r often ignored till u make a significant contribution, till u've some activity around, till people get to notice u more often...There's nothing wrong with that...

Some people presentation thread can have more than 5 pages and mine didn't have much more than 5 posts 😀, but it's all about how interesting ur post is, or wether u need to know soemthing or wether u r asking some intriguing question...

So i think i wouldn't sya it better than this...
I am often ignored, and I don't take it personally. I don't think "being ignored" should be taken as "a sign" of anything. People decide to make comments on other comments that made a bigger impression on them, as simple as that. Some people, in their "attempt" of not being ignored, go to such lengths as being trollish or "thinking out loud" without regard to the actual RFF community.

Ask. Share. There are hundreds and hundreds of us. It's not just you or me or them. It's us. And again, if sometimes you don't get a response, it may be that traffic is low; perhaps nobody has really congruent to say. Sometimes I'm so busy that typing an essay trying to catch up with my own mind is such a task that I just say to myself "somebody else will say what I'll say anyway". Sometimes it doesn't happen. Most of us --I gather-- are either the busy type or the retired type, not the type that is literally glued to the screen all day trying to fetch the next question.

Holy Fluid being called mere focussing fluid? Insult, lese majeste, blasphemy. I'll have you know that it comes in uncountable forms and varieties, rather like the divinities in my country (in none of whom or which, as it happens, I believe, but that's beside the point). There's the focussing fluid kind, sure enough, but what do you think makes shutters work smoothly? Aperture blades and setting rings? I haven't the time to list them all, so I shall point only to the most important: the one which keeps photographers steady when they have a dozen or two pints in their bellies.

"Payasam", in the languages of southern India, means a semi-liquid sweet, the most common being rice or other things cooked in milk. I am from central India, and the reason why I call myself Payasam (here as well as elsewhere) will not make sense except to a very few members. My real name, rather easier to mis-pronounce, is Mukul Dube.

...cat avatars... I was going to change mine to suit the season (it's winter here in IL), but I guess I'll keep it a bit longer...

Glad to hear it. Seeing that little orange furball appear in a thread always makes me smile.

And we're all here, in some way, because of pictures...

My lil' Oly RC, puts out beautiful snaps on Neopan 400. I burn it @ 320. A great litle camera.

Good point, Kim. When I first started here, I saw it as a form of initiation, putting in time reading threads, picking up clues as to who was who and matching real names to nicknames.

Frank

I don't know why, but this is the one group that I don't use my "groups" nick name. Interesting. It's a great group though, aint it?

True, true; and I figure anyone whom cats like has to be ok. Can be a warning if I have a prospective tenant the cat avoids. And that's an excuse for a picture of my little favorite Cinnamon...

My avatar is Cinnamon's buddy Ruff, now a lot older, longer, and leaner.

I have tons of cat pictures but I would have to ask them for permission before posting any. I grew up with cats and always have a cat, or 2, or 3 or 4. One of my babies pased away a couple of years ago. She was 24. She needed fluids 2X a day near the end, and then her kidneys finally failed totally. I never got over it.

How anyone could label fifty adult men with cat avatars as unfriendly is beyond me.
Well indeed, you have to be really relaxed if you can put up with these little Jekyll and Hydes. One minute they're nicer than politicians on campaign, the next there's a tornado in the house tearing down the curtains.. And don't get me started on the free anatomy lessons, because mr. hunter just wants to show off how good he is in catching and dissecting mice.. Nonetheless, we all like the little devil..

How true! My little beast just jumped on the bed and attacked the stuffed puppy. Scared the heck out of my wife on the bedroom 'puter. I can't understand why my cat hates stuffed animals. She hates the teddy bear, the down-under bear and the big puppy doll. She doesn't play with them, just attacks like a wild cougar. My wife thinks there's something wrong with this cat...but I love her (the cat). 🙂
