I have a BP II on due any day now but don't have any lenses. Probably looking to get a 50/3.5 that was made during the same year as the camera.

In the meantime, I should pick up another lens. Should I pick up a 50/3.5 or something else? Anything in the $350 price range will be my limit.

As a BP II, I will assume nickel as well? Then you must get the nickel Elmar 50/3.5! To stay in the theme, I'd look for a BP/nickel 90 or 135 and a BP/nickel finder! That said, in the meantime, I'd buy a later non-nickel 35/3.5 for the wide side to start. What a jewel!

Enjoy!

Hi,

You could look for a Summar or Summitar because you then have a wider choice and the posh lenses often went on the BP's. It all depends on the year of the body; I expect the last black one was sold 1939 or 40. BTW, looking at the stolen camera lists in old magazines I realised that bodies were often the same year or a year (or even two) years younger than the bodies.

Regards, David

Yes, nickel.

I'm not sure if I want a 90 or 135, or even a 35 plus finder. Does anybody use a 35 without a clip on finder?
