A couple of pictures from my black J-8 on my Bessa-R. I bought the lens from fedka, and it hasn't been modified in any way.

Well I got a nice Cokin 40.5 mm UV filter for it and it is a pretty nice little lens.

Sure? All of mine are 0.75mm pitch like their Sonnar ancestors, and I've never come across a fine pitch one. But then I am a Contax user. Did they perhaps make the LTM optics modules with different filter pitch?
Yes, the filters are interchangeable between LTM and Kiev, and yes, the pitch is apparently 0.5. KMZ website seems to agree (scroll down towards the bottom).
I used quite a few Jupiters, and only Jupiter-9 85/2 was pitched 0.75mm as I recall.

Perhaps ZorkiCat will weigh in with his opinion on this. He has commented on this issue in the past. I have my two Kiev J-8M in front of me and the thread difference is obvious.

I'm not going to contradict what you have there but I can say that the same 40.5mm filters fit on all my FSU lenses (well, those that take 40.5mm anyway!). This means my Jupiter 8, 11 and 12s and Industar 26 and 61s and a Helios 103. I have the same Jupiters in Kiev and LTM, no thread differences on mine.I have my two Kiev J-8M in front of me and the thread difference is obvious.

Hard to say. My J-12, J-8 (LTM), Helios 103 (Kiev) and newer J-8M (Kiev) all share the same filters/hoods. My older J-8M (Kiev) and Industar 61 are different.
