Hi everyone,

I am a newb to RF and recently i purchased a zorki 4k with two jupiter 8 lens (black and silver version). I tested both lens and the photo result is kind of disappointed. From most of the images it show a lot of ghost/flare/weird spots. The weird thing is those flare almost shown as the same spot on both black and silver J8 lens and i did have lens hood on when taking the picture.

Does it means there are some issues with both lens or the issues are coming from the zorki 4k camera.

And below is the link to my testing shoot

Unfortunately the white dots are due to holes in your shutter curtain. The curtains will need to be replaced. Thats why they always appear at the same place and when using both lenses. Shine a torch on your shutter curtain with the back of the camera removed to see them.

Hi,

Welcome aboard.

In case you don't know, the best person to repair the camera and replace the blinds for a fixed price is Oleg at

http://www.okvintagecamera.com/repair.html

I think you'll find most of us recommend him.

Apart from that it looks as though you have a decent camera with a couple of good lenses. For what it's worth, I was told I'd have to pay UKP150 to have blinds made specially by another repairer...

Regards, David

Hello and Welcome. Sorry to hear of your troubles. You might find it cheaper to buy another Zorki 4. Oleg is trusted by many and also Fedka dot com is a good supplier. Good Luck. Joe

Welcome to RFF.

I would recommend to have your camera fixed as mentioned above. It will save you time, frustration and money. Most poeple think it is cheaper to get another one, but these need service too sooner or later.

Buying another Zorki is like buying another lottery ticket. Not like, but the lottery.
If you want to have working FSU camera, do not buy another one (not working in 90%), but send it for CLA. It will cost same price as working and superior to any FSU camera Bessa R. You could also get working Leica IIf which is superior to any FSU LTM camera as well, it is also more easy to find service for this camera instead of FSU and Cosina.
