Hello!

I intend to put my Jupiter 9 LTM to some of my M42 SLRs and have a couple of questions:
- Would the mirror hit the rear of the lens? Especially on Praktica L series cameras.
- I know I can't focus at infinity but this is not important as I intend to use it for portraiture. What would the farest point I will get in sharp focus?

Greetings,

Eugen

Hi!
Mirror is safe with Jupiter 9 LTM .
The range of focusing area is very short so U can only use the lens for the macro shots , forget portraiture. Better find Jupiter 9 M42 and don't bother mounting LTM lenses on M42 system body's.

Not the same lens, I know, but an LTM J-11 will focus only between about 1m closest and about 1.4m furthest on an SLR. Allowing for the shorter focal length, a J-9 is probably not going to go much beyond 2m, although I don't have one to verify that.

RF and SLR lenses are not interchangeable (unless you want macro). It is possible to screw M39 RF lens in M39 SLR (first Zenits) and vice versa but this won't work (I have bought Industar 50 in SLR M39 mount - sellers fault, and the lens was much shorter than RF rigid one). You have to look for M42 version.

For the price of these lenses, just buy one in M42 mount.

Is the lens not working well in LTM?
