The Jupiter 9 (85mm/f2) is the worst offender but this is almost always because someone in the past has tried the relube the focus threads and put it back together wrong. They can be fixed but it’s a difficult job for people even who have experience working with camera lenses.
The Jupiter 3 (50mm/f1.5) are a bit hit and miss to get a good one, the problems I've heard of are varied.
The Jupiter 11 (135mm/f4) I haven't heard much good or bad, 135mm lenses are not so popular on RF's
The Jupiter 8 (50mm/f2) and Jupiter 12 (35mm/2.8) are the stars of the Soviet lenses, they rarely are heard of with problems, This also goes for the Industar lenses that are the most commonly found on FED cameras.
And only if one were to buy from fedka or oleg, lens and body will be guaranteed in good condition? I am really in a dilema of buying from which dealer.
a fed 2 from ebay(Grizzlybear) cost US$29 and a fed 2 cost US$95 quoted from fedka.
If it were me I'd buy one from ebay then send it to Oleg for a service, the price would be around the price of fedkas quote.....Oleg's serviced cameras are said to be the best you can get.
