the lens was used in the production of integrated circuit wafers at Northrop Grumman in rolling meadows Illinois, there are a couple on display at the Nikon museum in Japan

My guess was the lens for a large format recon camera.
Have you tried taking a picture with it? What size is the image circle?
I've picked up a couple of optics from old film recon cameras, even from an optical computer.
