Chinon must be one of the most underrated camera companies ever. I have a couple of chinon SLRs and the lenses are of excellent quality.
I had a Bellami for a while but it wasn't in great shape and eventually it gave up. Here is a picture taken with it.

Actually, I bought it for my Wife. She liked the concept of the “small 35”, and the point and shoot no fuss operation is a selling point. The camera seems to have an incredible lens. The images I’ve seen have “character”, in a way I can’t put my finger on. I really like the way it renders B&w.

It arrived yesterday, put batteries in and looks ready to go. . Wife very pleased, seen her do some “camera fondeling”. What a nice camera in hand. Everything fully conventional, delightful feel weight and balance. I sized this against my UR Leica and aside from the Leica 5/8” longer, matches well. Love the thumb pull to open the doors and pop the lens! So my Wife is going off on a three day camping trip near Woodstock, and finally she’s going to be shooting film, for the first time in decades! ....actually got her excited about it......
