Did this suddenly become a film vs digital thread?

Yep, pre-ordered from Vanbar in Oz a while ago. Just got the card charged yesterday, so it must be delivered soon!
I have 75% of the funds for the X-100 from selling gear. Started when this thread opened. After paying off the M9.

That's encouraging!
Maybe I will get mine this month after all. I gather all the cameras coming to Oz in the first shipment arrive at Fujifilm Australia then get despatched to wherever!

How is it Spyro? I'm from Melbourne and have been spoilt living in LA for gear, but we're running behind here

Ugh wish I were in the UK or Oz right now. Waiting for one in the states is murder, and if I were back in Japan, I'd be so busy working I wouldn't even remember the camera existed.

Well, mine's been delivered now, but as Vanbar delivered it to my home address, not the requested work address, i'll have to wait a couple of days for the couriers to re-direct it!

A little frustrating I'd imagine!
When I bought my D700 It was supposed to be delivered via Fedex who made a token effort to find where I lived then handed it to the postal system because it was all too hard for them. A camera that should have arrived two days after I ordered it took a week and half to get to me and then I had to drive fifteen k's to our local mail center to pick it up!
When my Fuji does eventually arrive I'll be driving to the other side of Brisbane to pick it up from Digital Camera Warehouse ... I'm not going through that again!

Im a no, would pondered it if it was a fair bit less. But I got an Oly Epl-1 and 17mm for about a third of the price. I am reasonably well in to the m4/3 cameras having both the Ep-1 and Epl-1 along with a G1, the whole lot cost me the same as the X100 is listed for. But I like the idea of the X100 so maybe in a few years when a used one is £250 or less.

Nope. My D700 is the only digital I need, the rest is film.
So, it looks like many potential X100 buyers are dropping off at other forums... anyone here change their mind?

I got mine this weekend but so far have been unable to give it a real try out. Got a couple of spare batteries today. Hoping to get some shooting done tomorrow.

Picked mine up on Saturday and used it that night at a political event. Also took along an M4 with 90mm glass in case I couldn't get close. Was able to get close so only took 4 or 5 with the Leica.
What immediately struck me was how quiet the shutter is with the artificial beeps turned off. A couple times I had to chimp just to be sure the shot had been recorded. Bet they put out an all black model and call it the XN-100 , N for ninja. ;-)
Seems like there's a big demand for this camera, and I can see why now that I've got one in my hands. There's even a person scalping one on the local online buy and sell site. He's priced it ~ $280 over what I paid.

The reports of a poor menu system and tiny rear controls haven't deterred me -- it sounds like I can get all of the functionality of my M7+35 Cron+Tri-X without ever going into a menu. Anything beyond that is just icing on the cake in my opinion.
I'm just hoping I can find one before visiting China as I've already sold my M7.

Nope, X100 is not going to be my primary camera, still planning to keep Nikons for that. Still on pre-order, hope it arrives before going back to Japan next month.
Damn, I was hoping the pre-orders were dropping off...
