Mine came in from B&H yesterday evening. Will hopefully get a chance to play with it some later today.

New owners might want to check that their camera has the most recent firmware. There were quite a few fixes made in version 1.10 .

Striving
Hung, a member here, has just been kind enough to lend me his X100 for a trial. First impressions are that it is lighter than expected (which I don't like), and I'm having trouble with my right thumb accidentally pressing control buttons when I'm simply trying to grip the camera. I wish it was a little bigger and had more mass, and I wish the grip areas were a little better defined and cleared of controls. I'm comparing this of course with the cameras I use and like - Leica M (very few controls at all!) and the Pentax dSLRs which have a pretty good shape and grip for my hands.
I'll shoot with it over the next few days. Thanks Hung!

Picked up one 2 or 3 weeks ago. I hesitated on the first one in my town and missed out but I got one from the second shipment.

I looked at it, compared it with the X1 and there was no contest despite the price difference. I liked the similarity with the M9, and the results from it to my mind have not caused any reconsideration of the decision. The price on a brand new X100 is dropping here in Singapore: 2 months ago it was around SGD 1595, then it dropped to SGD 1500 last month, now it is SGD 1450: this before asking "can you less it?" (Singlish for requesting a discount)

Making up for lost time
I was probably the first owner in Melbourne. Its peculiarities got me down and after a few weeks I sold it and retained the X1. I rue the day. What a mistake. I am now sitting on a waiting list with no idea when my number will come up.

My camera arrived from B&H this morning. I'll play with it over the next day or so and then Sunday take it out for a full blown excursion.
Rich, you may have actually given me a reason to come to those photomob things again
Cheers,

I'm currently testing one, for a friend of mine who's selling it in Italy.
I voted "yes" because it's a little lovely camera, very capable, with stunning IQ and low light efficiency IMHO.
The only flaw is the price and the firmware (i'm not updating it because the camera's not mine).
It's a complex toy with a lot of figures and must be deeply known and understood before completely judge it.
So, my judgment remains in the surface...

I'm a little late to this thread, but I just bought mine around an ago from Freestyle. Unfortunately I had to go directly back to work, so I can't use it yet, but the batteries are charging.

No, sorry. No fixed lens cameras for me. and if I would buy one, it would not be 23/35 mm focal.
