early christmas present: i just found a camera in a coat that i haven't worn in 2 or 3 years. great feeling, like finding a $20 bill in a pocket. not too shabby either, it is a yashica T4. weird thing is, i do not remember having a second T4. i sold a T4 several months back, and for the life of me, i can't remember that i had 2 of them. wonder if it's a sign of things to come. if i reach eighty, every time i walk into my darkroom, i'll go, "hey, look at these cameras and this great darkroom!"

I can understand misplacing or forgetting a $20 bill in a pocket...BUT a Yashica T4...No...
It's a sign that you either have too many cameras or your clutch is slipping...
If I were you I'd go checking a few more pockets in your closet...

i thought you guys would enjoy a laugh at my expense. :)

the t4 is sold was a local face to face deal. im sure i handed him the camera.

Hey Frank, when you start finding cameras you don't remember having, it probably just means you have too many cameras. No, that couldn't be it. I only have seven. No wait, it's nine.

Actually, just went through the house and found everything, I think, and the total is thirteen counting the two Holgas. Some of them need new seals or minor surgery, but over half of them can be used. Wait, I forgot about the Oly point and shoot, the Trip I believe. It's around here somewhere. Maybe I should dig through my closet!

Some of us are obsessed, well at least I am. I did give up my digital cameras a few months ago and am giving some of my current surplus to friends and relatives and local college kids - just gave a Lubitel to a freshman photography student at the college next door, my niece is getting the Oly DC, a Minolta loving friend is getting a Himatic 7s, etc. Soon I'll get it down to about five. I think.

Trying to control myself. Must not go to Classifieds. Must resist. Must not go. Trying to control. Must eat. Must pay bills. Must buy wife and children Christmas presents. Must buy film. Argh!

Frank: Does your wife read RFF? I hope not, or you may end up owing her another trip to France ...

there is film in the camera but the battery is dead. i got this beat up old coat out of a back closet and put it on this afternoon to get a christmas tree. it may have photos of a christmas tree expedition from 2 or 3 years ago. as for having too many cameras, all you really need is one ....

.... more.

New project idea-- keep a roll of B&W frozen all year except to photograph the same event every year, possibly a family gathering, a christmas tree or just yourself. The camera would have to stay frozen as well to last several years. At the end of many years I will develop the roll and have 24/36 frames spanning the years.
