Just got a M8, banding question

I'm sorry this is prob asked many times before but.. I just bought this demo m8 and took my first pictures.. It still has warranty so i was wondering if this is "normal" for a m8 @640 iso.
Sure.. a bit underexposed but i did not push it in raw.

Looks "normal M8" to me. Lack of AA filter is what is probably to blame for this particular one.

Edit: I just realized I don't know what part of that crop is problematic to you, so my diagnosis could be wrong. I am looking at the "wood part". What part exactly are you seeing problems in?

Is there any way to post DNGs to RFF, by the way?

can you post the whole picture? It looks underexposed to me and underexposure will cause banding.
 
this sure aint wood, its grey solid color!
The part of the image is dark, but there are quite a few situations imaginable not everthing in a image can be exposed perfectly, say a shadow for instance.
here is the whole image

Not only stripes on the table. You see them continue through the face of the girl bottom left and throughout the height of the image against the pole on the left. It's a known phenomenon of "high" iso of the M8, but as bad as it shows up here is appalling. Jasper, I would send it back to Leica.

Aren´t they done yet in Noordwijk with that building site?:p
I got my M8 from Foto Henny Hoogeveen in March, it's a very decent shop. I'm pretty sure Duncan will handle the Leica hassle for you. Return it to them and ask for another camera.

BTW, when shooting RAW, expose right (as opposed to left): make sure the peak on the histogram is at 3/4ths, not in the middle. Then develop in Lightroom and you'll have better shots for sure.

Increasing brightness on underexposed shots brings flaring pixels that got too little light into plain sight!
 
I got it from leica specialist P.Krigee at Nivo Schweitzer in amsterdam, and i send him the image. He is going to take care of it, i'm sure.
I know about exposing to the right and raw development, but this seems a structural damage to the image in a slightly random pattern, much worse than shadownoise. Especcialy in the girls face.
This is no great photo just on my way home after i bought the cam, but i can imagine a scene with similar lightning conditions wich would be an important image.
BTW i just noticed when i make a photo with the selftimer, the 2nd pressurepoint triggers the exposure.. a bit like the soft function i read was available on m8.2 and m9. Strange huh?
