Congrats, Chris, on a well-deserved good break. I'm really looking forward to your Mamiya 6 photos; been thinking about that camera now that I'm inching towards MF.
I don't even have batteries in my Leica M6 bodies, since all they do is power the useless meter.
Chris,
The Mamiya 6 is an awesome camera and you have taken some excellent photos with it. I hope you get many years of enjoyment and great photos with it!
I have really enjoyed mine sine I bought it about 9 months ago from the RFF classifieds. I seem to use the 50mm the most, but all of the lenses are excellent.

Hi, Chris, congratulations! I know what you mean about the Hassie not being ideal for the work you do. I often think it would be so much easier to shoot with an eye level 120, yhan trying to hold the Hassie, with prism, to eye level. Focusing would be easier, and ergonomically things would be in the right place. In my case I think I might like the Mamiya 7. I also thought about the Fuji Texas Leica.
Well, Good luck with the new job! And I'm sure you will be posting many shots from the Mamiya.
Thanks, Rob. It is easier to work with the Mamiya 6. I chose it over the 7 because I love square format. The store I bought the Mamiya at had a 6x9 Fuji RF, I think it was called a GW690, the 6x9 one, and it was GIGANTIC even compared to the Mamiya 6! Still, a lot smaller than an RB-67. I think you'd like either the Mamiya 7 or the Fuji if you prefer 6x7.
I've started carrying the Mamiya 6 as my everyday carry camera, instead of my Leicas. I could never do that with the Hasselblad, just too heavy. I'm in poor health and cannot carry my Hassy kit all day, just too much. The Mamiya 6 is light!
This week is my school district's spring break, so I hope to catch up on scanning and processing my films from the Mamiya. I just developed 2 more rolls tonight, and have 3 more to develop tomorrow...then a lot of scans to do. 🙂
Great pictures, Chris! I'm glad you've gotten the Mamiya 6, it really is a wonderfully portable camera with fantastic optics. You definitely should get the other two lenses; although I have to admit the 75mm is my personal favorite.
When collapsed, I've found that the complete system takes up less space than most DSLRs. Here's everything, fitting into a fairly small camera bag that could only hold a Canon 50D with one attached lens...
