Why you must go to Walmart.....
Why you must go to Walmart.....
NO... must use the Walmart delivery system. Reason.. they use their freight trucks to deliver point to point. They cover shipping costs.
If you could mail the mailers yourself, you'd defeat the plan costwise. You'd have another $5 to $10 at your expense.
The wait is worth the savings.
Black and white, and often E6 gets forwarded out to other labs by the original Fuji lab sent to. In my location E6 comes back in 10 tens on the nose, and cost is $4.88.
No scanning of any kind by Walmart. Send Out Only clearly marked on envelope.
Circumstances may change by geographic location, but no 120-220 is developed IN Store at any WalMart location and they're starting to get rid of their 35mm processing inhouse.
I have Walmart inhouse 35mm processing here in my town, but at the Superstore Walmart 15 miles away... NO inhouse, 35 or otherwise. Only SEND OUT. The existence of in house 35 seems to revolve around store age and condition of processing equipment. Stores which had inhouse processing and the equipment is still servicable seem to be continuing processing of 35 mm in store. Newer stores like the Super series are not getting the equipment in the first place, but do the SEND OUT ONLY. Older stores with worn out film processors are dropping in house 35mm, but often continuing SEND OUT ONLY.
Prices consistent with what RAID reports. Cheap. Let the system work for you.
Why you must go to Walmart.....
I've seen these threads on RFF before and I've always assumed this required walking in to Walmart, right?
Walk in, put in mailer, leave mailer there, wait, walk in another time to pick up developed film.
Can't go pick up mailers and mail them in and get them back at your address?
Sorry -- Walmart newbie, here.

How many times have I said in these Walmart posts...
How many times have I said in these Walmart posts...
Best way to F__K up your Walmart experience is to talk to Walmart store employees with processing questions or prices, or to contact Fuji about pricing.
Leave it alone. It works..... oddly but inexpensive.
Don't inquire about scanning and/or prints. Just do development and film/neg strips sleeved.
Just get the envelopes. Fill them out per pictures of examples in previous Walmart/Fuji posts here, drop them off for send out, wait for the call on return (I always get one) or check back in ten days.

The moral of this story is not to ask questions at Walmart.

Folks, whether it's under $1 or close to $3 per roll at Wal-Mart, that's still dirt cheap. Don't complain! I pay quite a bit more than that at my local camera shop, and I know they send the b&w rolls out, so it's more like $12-$13 per roll (not including a disc). I like to give them business, but it's starting to make me think I can stand to wait a while to get stuff back from W-M if I'm paying 1/4 the cost or less. Though I admit, my local Wal-Mart is a zoo -- not a pleasant experience.

For mail out, can you get B&W develop only at Walmart or must you get prints too?

I have a Rite-Aid just 2 blocks from my house (the Wal-Mart I tried last time was 7 miles away). I took a roll of 35mm there last night for their 1-hour processing and found out they stopped that. They do, however, do send-out to Fuji. Hopefully my negatives will not get cut in strips of 2 frames this time....

My local Costco still does C41 at $1.59 per developed only roll.

The other thing to remember:
While 35mm C-41 processing can still be found locally and FAST, the majority of us are talking about 120 & 220 C-41 processing. Scarce as hens' teeth to find locally. Rudely expensive in terms of time, gas and processing fees when you do find it.
Stop lamenting the loss of 1 hour mini-labs for 35mm. Shoot medium format color!

I had no idea it was this ridiculously cheap to have 120/220 done. I may have to grab a MF body to play with just for a goof.
Well, I guess I'd need to get a scanner then also.

Why yes Ma'am - it folds
My Walmart here in Montana sends to a Fuji developer in Seattle. Took 3 weeks to get a 120 roll back since it only goes out/comes back on Monday & Friday. They followed the written instructions of negs only & cut into sleeved strips of 2 (6x9). Price was $2.88. However, two to the negs had a serious finger print square dab in the middle of the negative. The was also a light leak on the first frame and I know my Bessa II is light tight!
Closer to home, 150 miles ala Montana distances, is F-11 Photographic Supplies in Bozeman, MT. They have 60 minute 120/220 negative developing for $5 a roll. I may have to try them via mail.

Mail your own defeats the price saving...
Mail your own defeats the price saving...
Even if you could do it.... the biggest saving is that Walmart throws a bag on a Walmart truck going the right direction. All the film goes to a Fuji Professional lab. However, Fuji does not do all the processing. They send out the film they don't process from their lab and get it back. It still results in a ten day turn around in all my experience.
I have been doing the mailer and drop box at Walmart for 3-4 years. Never taken more than ten days counting weekends for return. Both local Walmarts call me. Never a lost roll and only a few times they haven't called me, but by the time I give it the ten days and check myself... film is there.
My experience on price is similar to all posted here.
I have posted on this two or three times before here at RFF. In fact, I have posted pics of "filled out" mailers. I only have done 120 with Walmart. I don't do 35mm. Clearly and boldly mark the envelope "SEND OUT ONLY" near the top. Drop in the fuji kiosk slot.
No to scanning with Walmart. Quality of processing... Very good. Issues are usually introduced by me and the film I shoot and how I shoot it. Walmart is simply a conduit and shipping free cost factor. I am cordial to the Walmart employees and I don't stress our relationship by expecting them to be darkroom or processing professionals. They aren't paid enough to be, and they're currently taking a hit on their health insurance premiums and benefits. Just expect them to do what they do. Put the envelopes in the Fuji bag, throw them on the truck, sort and call you when they come back.
Keep your envelope stub and call the Fuji lab on the mailer if you have questions.
Again, I have offered a lot of detail on this in previous posts.

Thanks, Kuzano. I am looking for an inexpensive C41 120 processor, as I use Costco for 35mm and they don't do 120. The local camera shop charges $6 for dev only. A little too steep. I'll try Walmart

So has mine. I called the lab and they confirmed. However a week later a friend of mine had film sent out and the negs returned and when I asked her she said they only stopped returning 35mm negs. Not sure if it's worth the risk of losing your negs for poor quality scans on a cd.

What you said is correct. 120 film is returned.

At such prices, it is nearly same cost to send to Precision Camera, which includes scanning.
