For most of the shoot I was using my nikon d200 with a strobe kit. You can see some of those shots on my website. And, I had taken my new r2a up to San Francisco with me to do some street photography, had one roll of film left, and thought, why not try a few shots. To answer your question, there was no strobe on these two shots, the light on the model came from either the streetlight or surrounding ambient light. The levels were tweaked in PS, but not nearly what I thought I would have to do. that 35mm 1.7 really did the trick in low light.
Welcome and nice shots! I really like the color in the background lights of the first one.
While I'm enjoying my 35/2.5, I think my shooting style would be better suited with something faster like the 1.7. But can't afford to buy any more lenses at the moment. Seeing your great shots doesn't help. 🙂
Welcome, the first shot shows good selective focus working very well. Colours also are good. I love the 35 Ultron, its the lens normally mounted on my Bessa R.
Nice shots and congratulations on the R2a. I've had mine for a while now and really like it. I use it mostly with the 35/2.5. The 1.7 really seems to do a great job. Hmmm. Do I feel a GAS attack coming on?
