Just had eye surgery today......I am so bummed out

All the best! At least you're in a place with decent medical services and this seems to be a routine thing, so don't worry, everything will be fine.

Hope you are well. I had an eye-lid surgery in the summer this year and it was painful, too.
On the first two days after it, I did not even think about putting my computer on and look around or even write postings. ;) but that was mostly because I was totally knackered from the anesthesia.

Michael, hope you're doing better now, good idea to take a point and shoot out today! I'm sure those festivities will brighten up your day a bit and it'll be fun trying out a different way of shooting. Try some hyperfocal hipshots, get close and think of yourself as some kind of Daido Moriyama :)
You'll be fine!

Michael I had a similar thing myself some time ago. A small lump appeared on my eyelid for no apparent reason. The Doc said it was nothing but I chose the option to have it removed. After all, it was spoiling my good looks:) I had surgery which was quite painful and spent a couple of days looking like a pirate with my new eypatch on, but since then all is fine. Having spoken to my GP and the surgeons at the hospital they said that this was very common and was confirmed when I went for the op, as there were about six other patients having the same treatment. So hopefully all will turn out well for you too.
All the best
Paul

Michael,

I've had contacts since 6th grade - was told I'd go blind before I could vote if I didn't. Had a cyst on my eyeball at one point and switched to soft lenses. Here I am years later and I can still see.

You'd be amazed at how hard the human body tries to return to health and stasis. I only recommend that you avoid the PC and the eye strain. The increase in healing time that it could bring could only result in more stress which won't help. Relax and heal

Get well soon! I love your pictures.

Your Dr reckons you will be ok which is good. But yes, there are times when you need your friends and family. Good luck with the outcome.

Michael, maybe this is your chance to switch your master eye... :)

On a serious note, wish you well. From what you described, my hunch tells me you'll be fine so don't worry too much about it!

Hello Robert.....I will know the results about the stye under my eyelid on Wednesday ...my eye feels fine now, but the stye is still there.....I am waiting until I talk to the doctor on Wednesday before I buy tickets to Myanmar.........

Yesterday I went out with a friend to test my m2/m6ttl and all my lenses and my eye and how comfortable I felt shooting.....every thing was cool.....

One really cool thing .....Leicashot (Kristian) is in Bangkok and I am on my way to meet him now at a cool bar.....looking forward to a good night......and I am happy the M2 is fine, no light leaks or anything ....
Cheers, Michael

Michael,

Here's hoping for the best of all possible outcomes on Wednesday. Glad to hear your outing went well. Hang in there.

Best regards,

Bob

Waiting to hear great news from you on Wednesday, Michael!

Your photography deserves perfect eyes, so you'll keep enjoying both of them as always... Don't worry...

Cheers,

Juan

thanks a lot everybody........I am waiting for the results too.......something very strange happened this morning, the stye "popped" as I was putting medicine on it........it didn't hurt at all and just a little puss/liquid came out....i re-cleaned the eye lid and put some more medicine on it..........now I am just waiting until Wednesday.......I really want to go to Myanmar on the 19th for a 21 day photo trip, but I am going to wait until I hear from the doctor before I decide what to do....

I had an excellent night last night, I met up with Leicashot (Kristian) and he had his lovely black m9-p and 35mm/1.2 on it.....that guy is so cool....I had such a good time hanging out with him.....not only does he shoot amazing photos, he is an amazing guy to hang out with......
