Just In Case We Are Swallowed...

Next thing we know they'll have created an enormous torsion field and we're all transferred back in time to when most of our RF cameras were new...just before our cells crystallize....

I'm am rather interested to see what they can gain from these experiments, knowledge of unknown elements, anti-matter, dark matter. Would be nice to see some return on the taxpayers' money.

If all goes wrong I'd be hanging all my leicas around my neck and and cleaning out the freezer. ;)

I think they make it up – they’re all sat down there smoking reefers and watching Star Trek and theorising what a girl must actually feel like. That big tube is really just a giant bong. Every now and again they’ve gotta pretend they’re doing something “yeah we made antimatter….. but it’s gone now. See it? Ho ho ho my friend – you cant SEE it!” and then “what have we been doing? Gearing up to make a... um… black hole yeah that’s right! No you can’t see one of those either but it’s there! honest! Of course we won’t get sucked in! do the Romulans get sucked in? no and their ships run off em!! There’s your proof.”

Don't worry. We still have some time to get our photo equipment right. They are just testing right now if the acceleration works. They will be starting with the collisions on Okt. 21.

Okay, all together now:

There's a deep dark hole and it leads to nowhere
There's a deep dark hole and it leads to nowhere
Better step aside, best take care
Keep an eye out and beware
There's a deep dark hole and it leads to nowhere

It'll spin you around and keep you down
Tie your feet right to the ground
'Cause it's got no soul, just a big black hole
It'll mix you up and leave you out cold

And so on. (Thank you, Los Lobos! Practically fits the subject to a T.)

Anyway, I managed to resist buying a "Particle Physics Gives Me a Hadron" t-shirt, but, I'll tell you, If I can't buy fresh Polaroid roll film for my Dad's old 95 after this is over, I'll be so cheesed-off. (I might settle for a fresh brick of Kodachrome X, though...)

Such unholey dark humour, I guess "it doesn't matter anymore" to quote Buddy Holly, or was it Holey, as nothing's happened yet?

One things for sure if we all go now it will still take Leica 5 years to catch up.

I do hope they don’t discover the big-bang was triggered by a bunch of physicists doing a really big experiment in some parallel universe that went tragically wrong when they discovered the big-bang was triggered by a bunch of physicists doing a really big experiment in some parallel universe that went tragically wrong when they discovered the big-bang was triggered by a bunch of physicists doing a really big experiment in some parallel universe that went tragically wrong when they discovered the big-bang was triggered by a bunch of physicists doing a really big experiment in some parallel universe that went tragically wrong when they discovered the big-bang was triggered by…………..

If you are photographing a black-hole should one have the lens cap on the lens? In order to keep the light in the camera?

Sorry to spoil some of the fun ...

No collision has taken place yet. In fact it is planned for a few weeks from now.

CERN is not Swiss, Switzerland is not Europe and most of the ring is under France.

Best,

Roland.

As much as I remember the movie "Event Horizon" with Sam Neill we will all start to speak Latin there....
And I just started a 3 weeks vacation in Rhodes......
At least I got a Yash-mat, a Bessa R + 21 CV and 2 Nikons with 28/2, 50/2 and 85/2 with me........and tons of film
